Mark SanAngelo
I grew up in a little town just outside of Rochester, NY. My best friend in high school went to college for radio so I thought it sounded like a good career for me too. I started in the Radio and Television Broadcasting Department at Butler University in Indianapolis in August 1983. I’ve worked in radio continuously since then (you do the math!)
I moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan in September 1994, to work at WSUE-FM (then 101FM Rocks) and WSOO-AM. I started as the 3-7PM DJ on “101” and as Promotions Director. I also eventually did sales and programming for both WSOO and WSUE.
I was promoted to Operations Manager for Sovereign Communications in January 2004, and have been in that position ever since. I am in charge of the On-Air Operations for 6 of our 7 Stations, and handle programming the music for all 7.
I am still on WSUE-FM (now Rock 101) and have been continuously since 1994. I’ve done at least one shift on almost every one of our stations. Currently, I am the morning host on Oldies 93, the morning host on 1230 WSOO, 10A-3PM on Rock 101, plus several weekend shifts including weekends on 995 Yes FM.
I am currently on the Board of Directors for United Way of the EUP which provides support to people and organizations in Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac Counties. I am extensively involved in the Relay For Life of the EUP, and have been directly involved in several local charities and fundraisers for organizations like Rotary of Sault Ste. Marie,
Prior to moving to the Soo, I worked in Indianapolis, Indiana at WAJC-FM, WJRP-FM, WFBQ-FM, WRTV-TV and WMCC-TV. In Rochester, New York at WCMF-FM, WRMM-FM, WACK-AM and WUUF-FM. I also currently voicetrack for WJOT-FM/Wabash, Indiana and WARU-FM/Peru, Indiana.
