Johnny Nunez/WireImageDavido returns with a colorful visual for his enticing new single, “Fem“.
The visual opens with the award-winning Afropop artist and his friends coming off a private jet, keeping to the song’s feel-good energy with vibrant colors of pink and neon yellow and beautiful scenic views.
“Fem” means “be quiet” in Nigerian. On Instagram, Davido described the term as a phrase used when “people talking about you because they don’t understand your shine, they don’t understand your grace, they don’t understand why they can never be what you are or have what you have.”
In other words, don’t worry about the haters or those who don’t bring any peace and positivity into your life.
Davido has had a lot to celebrate after his 2017 single, “Fall” was certified Gold, earlier this year. It peaked at #14 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip Hop chart. His 2019 album, A Good Time, featured appearances from Summer Walker, Popcaan, Gunna, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Indigo collaborator Chris Brown for “Blow My Mind.”
Davido was also featured on tracks with Fabolous, Tiwa Savage, Teyana Taylor, and on “Tsunami” from the deluxe edition of Pop Smoke‘s posthumous debut, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon
