Other invitees in the 2020 class include “Old Town Road” star Lil Nas X, rapper Gunna, gospel musician Le’Andria Johnson, and singer-songwriters Victoria Monét and Kiana Ledé.
In commemoration of the announcement, Bruce and several of the other invitees spoke about the music industry in a virtual roundtable discussion, which you can watch now via Grammy.com.
According to the Recording Academy, the 2020 invitee class is 48 percent female, 21 percent African American/African descent, eight percent Hispanic, and three percent Asian American and Pacific Islander. The current Recording Academy membership is 26 percent female and 25 percent “from traditionally underrepresented communities.”
Bruce and Asking Alexandria released their new album, Like a House on Fire, last May.
