During an episode of Open Late with Peter Rosenberg, Joe shared a crazy story about the track, during which he revealed that the 6 God also was supposed to be featured on the song.
“I got a FaceTime call maybe three times while ‘All the Way Up’ was out,” Joe shared with Rosenberg. “And it was your man, the 6 God, Drake.”
Joe claims Jay convinced him not to add any other artist to the song. “[Jay] said, ‘Look, Joe. It means so much to our the history, between me and you, let’s not put nobody else on the song,'” he shared. “He’s not [just] referring to Drake…it could have been Kanye West, [even] 50 Cent was asking to get on the remix…you know everybody big.”
The explosive song, hailing from Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s Plata O Plomo album, took over airwaves during the summer of 2016.
Joe went to share he’s been listening to Drake’s music with his daughter in quarantine. “He the best, man, he’s the best,” Joe said.
