Photo Credit: Troy Jensen It’s been thirty years since En Vogue released their first album, Born to Sing, and now, one of the group’s original members, Terry Ellis, is opening up about what she hopes the future will bring for the Funky Divas.
“Well, we’re looking forward to continuing to grow the brand,” Ellis tells ABC Audio. “That’s the ultimate for us.”
Ellis shares that part of the vision for their brand is to “hopefully” do a “residency in Las Vegas.”
In addition, the group has recently launched the visual podcast, Funky Divas, where the ladies discuss intimate details about their collective journey as a group, including dishing on their origins, their life on the road and other milestone moments — with exclusive “surprise” special guests.
“We’re hoping with this podcast that it just blows up and explodes,” Ellis continues. “Because we’re really excited about that.”
“And new music,” Ellis adds. And more television and film.”
Thankfully for fans, Ellis and the group have already started to check items off their list of future goals. Along with a 30th anniversary reissue of Born to Sing, the group also dropped their rare b-side, “Mover.“
The ladies were also featured on a recent episode of Empire, where they performed “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It).”
